Fast access with no traffic use fees
Our backup servers are connected via a private network using a second network card in your server, so the data transfer is not counted toward your Internet bandwidth utilisation. The Network Storage servers are not publicly accessible to the Internet, but only through your server.
Your second ethernet card (NIC) will need to be configured to use private network address space. We recommend using a gigabit NIC for best performance, although if you are primarily using the managed storage service for backup purposes 100 Mbps may well be adequate.
Accessing our Managed Storage servers
You can access your file space on our Managed Storage servers using a number of standard file system and Internet protocols. We support all of the following:
- CIFS / Samba / SMB (Windows shares)
- FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
- NFS (Network File System)
- rsync
Availability & Pricing
We currently offer Managed Storage as an option at selected colocation sites only, including Sydney, Amsterdam, Tokyo and San Francisco.
This service is being introduced at our other locations subject to demand; so please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Pricing is dependent mostly on the amount of space you require and is usually sold in 100 GB blocks (but we can offer other sizes to suit your needs). Please contact us for a quote - just specify your total storage requirements and at which data center(s) you need this facility.
