Global Switch Sydney power outage

Our primary Sydney data center facility at Global Switch in Sydney experienced an extended loss of power on our level due to one of the main power feeds failing. This affected a large number of companies and was not isolated to Sublime IP.
The approximate power outage was from 10:20 – 11:00 AET Thursday July 14. Some network services were also degraded for a period following the restoration of power.
As a result of this power outage, the storage arrays used by some of our Sydney virtual web site hosting servers was damaged and therefore websites had to be restored from backups.
Our technicians worked throughout the day and last night restoring and testing of client web sites. No data was lost as a result of this outage and all backups restored as per our expectations.
The vast majority of business web sites were operational again within 2 hours, with “economy” web sites restored later in the day.
